So, a shortened version of my personal list:Ģ.) While it's not physics related, removing the f*cking TCS off of every God damn vehicle, or at least give an option to shut it off. Notice how the car leans for no reason? That's what I don't like, but I see why they've added it most people who complain about the driving would be doing even worse if their car didn't naturally lean in to each turn. So, another easy way to test it would be to flip your car upside down and just sit in it moving the stick left to right, up and down. Doing stunt jumps was one of the easiest way to test this, but I'm sure most people would say that it only kicks in while flying. Even when traveling at relatively low speed, your car would lean in whichever direction you moved the stick (assuming you're playing on a 360/PS3). One of the only things that I didn't like about GTA:IV's driving physics was the fact that all vehicles would naturally lean. Smashing the gas all the way up until you're ten feet away from a corner then slamming on the brakes will not yield favorable results. Most of the people that I know who were complaining about GTA:IV's driving physics are the ones who've never played (or never liked) games like Gran Turismo, Forza, etc. Most of us that grew up playing games like Gran Turismo (and later, Forza) have a good idea of how to handle a vehicle at high speeds. When it came to braking, I think GTA:IV did an incredible job. Just like many of you have previously mentioned, I'd like a refined version of GTA:IV's physics. It took me a while to adjust to it and it isn't my favorite car. When the Bullet came along in TBOGT, the handling was back to being more 'arcade like' what with it's high levels of grip and braking performance.

But get used to it and you can slither and slide it around under power all day long. You will slide this car and you will have to catch the tail. Very rewarding.Ĭontrast that to the Duke, which is tail happy in the extreme. Slow in, fast out, forget the handbrake, minimal opposite lock required.

Smooth is the name of the game with this car. The Turismo is one of the best handling cars. For these you have to be ready with a touch of opposite lock to catch it before it spins.ĭifferent cars require different techniques to drive them. Some cars are a bit tail happy though and you can't power all the way through the corner without the rear coming out. Then you can power your car through the corner very nicely and exit quite fast. Get your braking done in a straight line and get your corner entry speed right. The crucial element in driving in IV was braking. Being so realistic, I found the cars intuitive to control. The driving physics in IV were pretty much perfect.
